Robbie Ryan Wins a Golden Frog!

Huge congratulations to Robbie Ryan BSC ISC who won the Golden Frog in the Main Competition for his lensing of C’Mon, C’Mon, directed by Mike Mills, as well as scooping the Audience Award. Praised for his “precise and humble eye” and “cinema that touches the soul,” accepted via video from a film set in Hungary, calling “C’mon C’mon” a “small film,” made just prior to the COVID pandemic by a crew “traveling around like a circus.”

The main competition jury, headed by Joe Wright, gave the Silver Frog to director of photography (DoP) Bruno Delbonnel for Joel Coen’s stark black-and-white The Tragedy Of Macbeth.  “Dune,” the epic adaptation of Frank Herbert’s seminal sci-fi novel filmed by Greig Fraser and directed by Denis Villeneuve, took the Bronze Frog.
